As usual, December is a busy month of music-making at St Giles’ and as well as our usual Christmas concerts and services open to the public, we’re very pleased to be hosting a Christmas Concert by Lyndhurst Primary School and acting as the launchpad to the 9th Carols ’round Camberwell. We’re even sending members of our junior choir out to sing carols at a service at King’s College Hospital Chapel.
Sadly, one of our Christmas events has been sold out for many weeks in advance! Organoke: The Alternative Carol Service takes place on Saturday 14th December from 7pm with music starting at 8pm. But there could be returns on the door – check out the organoke website for details.
There are still plenty of other events to enjoy though! First up is Camberwell Choir School’s Carol Concert, which will be attended by the Mayor of Southwark. Join us at 5pm on Saturday 7th December – entry is free.
At 7.30 pm on Thursday 19th December, The Chamber Choir of Midsummer Opera will be performing a concert of both well-known and rarely performed Christmas carols. Again, entry is free and any donations will go towards Central Southwark Food Bank.
Finally, on Sunday 22nd December at 6pm, St Giles’ will be holding a Carols by Candlelight service. This beautiful service will be sung by the choir and there will be readings as well as carols for all to sing. Mince pies and mulled wine will be available and donations will be gratefully received.
Do join us for a very musical Christmas 2019 at St Giles’.
